Last night I bought this couch and loveseat off KSL for $50, and having a twinge of buyers remorse because they are really quite ugly. I need some color!!!
My mission: I'd like to make my own slipcovers to cutsie them up. I'm really hesitant, but I thought if I document it then I'll be more likely to finish the project...and maybe get a little encouragement along the way! Today I did measurements to try and find out how much fabric I'd need and then compare the price to store bought slipcovers to see if this whole escapade is going to be worth it or not. I figured I'll need about 7 yards for the love seat and 10 yards for the couch. Color? I'm thinking a deep purple or sage green. What do you think?

i vote buy premade ones and tweak if need be. i loved the ones we had but i had to shorten the love seat cushion cover. best part is that when the kids mess them up--into the wash they go. you can also change the look in 5 years if you want to redecorate for far less than new furniture.
